Fokker D.VIII 42″ R/C Short Kit (Peter Rake design)
Authentic WWI parasol-fighter scale model in 1/8 scale — laser-cut short kit of the Fokker D.VIII (42″ wingspan) — ready for builder completion with electronics. A perfect project for vintage-scale enthusiasts and intermediate R/C modellers who enjoy building from scratch.
SKU: FOKKERDVIII-42-SHORTKIT
The Fokker D.VIII 42″ R/C Short Kit — designed by Peter Rake — captures the classic lines of the WWI “Flying Razor,” now in a manageable 1/8-scale, 42-inch-span model that fits easily in most cars. Whether you're after a faithful scale replica or a charming park-flyer, this kit delivers a solid balsa and plywood framework to build upon.
This short kit includes precisely laser-cut structural components to build the basic airframe, including fuselage sides, formers, bulkheads, wing ribs, spars, tail parts, and struts — saving you hours of tedious hand-cutting. The design supports either a three-function (rudder, elevator, throttle) build or optional four-function with ailerons (depending on wing style chosen).
- Laser-cut balsa and lite plywood parts set — fuselage, wing ribs, tail, formers and bulkheads included
- Plan based on the Peter Rake 1/8-scale 42″ Fokker D.VIII (from Outerzone / Flying Scale Models)
- Electric-power ready — ideal for 400-size brushless setup and 2-cell LiPo battery (or similar light electric motor setup)
- Option for 3-channel control (rudder, elevator, throttle) or full-scale 4-control surfaces including ailerons
- Suitable for intermediate modellers; excellent for vintage-scale and souvenir “hang-on-the-wall” builds
Note: This is a short kit. It does not include covering material, adhesives, finishing supplies, electronics (motor/ESC/battery/servos), landing gear, wheels or hardware — these must be supplied by the builder. If planning a more aggressive power-to-weight setup or aerobatic flying, check structure and consider reinforcement.
