The Apogee Sport 40" DLG (Discus Launch Glider) is a compact, lightweight hand-launched sailplane designed for competition-grade performance and relaxing slope or thermal flying. This complete wood kit includes all laser-cut balsa and plywood parts needed for the airframe, providing excellent fit and minimal sanding during assembly.

With its sleek, efficient wing planform and low weight, the Apogee Sport offers outstanding launch height, quick acceleration, and the ability to catch even the lightest thermals. It’s equally at home in a competition environment or as a fun park flyer for calm days.
While this kit provides all the wooden components needed for construction, you will need to add covering, adhesives, pushrods, control horns, and radio gear to complete the model. The tail surfaces and wing are optimized for film covering to keep weight to a minimum.
If built or flown outside its intended lightweight performance range (e.g., with heavier servos or high-speed modifications), reinforcements may be required – the builder should evaluate based on intended use.
